KOSPI Falls 11.8% in July as Semiconductor Stocks Drag; Entertainment and Finance Surge

According to the Korean Exchange and Yonhapinfomax, KOSPI declined 11.8% in July through the 10th as major semiconductor stocks weighed on the index. Samsung Electronics fell 14.67% and SK Hynix dropped 17.74%, collectively accounting for 52.62% of KOSPI market capitalization. Meanwhile, the entertainment and culture index rose 7.78%, while the financial index gained 6.90%, as market funds rotated away from semiconductors.
