On June 15, Li Auto unveiled the Mach M100, a 5nm AI chip featuring 1,280 TOPS computing power. According to CTO Xie Yan, the chip employs a dataflow architecture—the first of its kind globally—designed to eliminate processing bottlenecks by removing the instruction-driven model of traditional von Neumann architecture. The dataflow approach allows data to flow directly between computing units without central coordination, significantly improving hardware utilization at scale.
The chip development took four years from 2022 onward, culminating in full vehicle validation and multi-model compatibility testing. Li Auto plans to equip the Mach M100 standard across all variants of its next-generation L9 Livis vehicle starting in 2026.
