Lifeboat Rope Snaps at Malaysia Oil Rig, 3 Dead and 1 Injured on May 24

According to Malaysian police, a lifeboat rope snapped on May 24 afternoon at an offshore drilling platform in Terengganu, Malaysia, leaving three workers dead and one severely injured. Four workers were descending into the sea in a enclosed lifeboat for platform maintenance when the rope suddenly detached. Malaysia's state oil company Petronas is cooperating with authorities to investigate the incident.
