According to BlockBeats, investor Michael Burry has profited from shorting semiconductor stocks and the SOX Semiconductor Index since late June. As of the July 28 market close, his short position in Applied Materials (AMAT) showed unrealized gains of approximately 34.7%, the highest among his semiconductor bets. The SOX Index shorts gained about 23.3%, Micron Technology approximately 22.0%, and Nvidia approximately 0.5%. Burry began shorting AMAT, Nvidia, and the SOX Index around June 30, with an additional short position in Micron established in early July. A simple average of his June-to-early July positions showed unrealized gains of roughly 20.1% as of July 28.
