According to Microsoft, on Monday the company introduced MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, a new artificial intelligence model for identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities. When combined with OpenAI's GPT-5.4, the model outperforms competing solutions from Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI on the CyberGym benchmark at 50% of the cost, Microsoft CEO AI Mustafa Suleyman said at a San Francisco event.
The model will be integrated into Project Perception, Microsoft's collection of AI agents for discovering and fixing security weaknesses. Project Perception will enter public preview on August 3, according to Microsoft's official announcement.
