Microsoft Invests $2.5 Billion in AI Services Unit with 6,000 Employees on July 2

According to CNBC, Microsoft announced on July 2 that it will invest $2.5 billion in Microsoft Frontier, a new unit designed to place 6,000 employees with customers to help them adopt AI. The division will combine existing forward-deployed engineers, consultants, support staff, and sales personnel. Microsoft Asia president Rodrigo Kede Lima will lead the unit. These forward-deployed engineers adapt AI solutions in customer environments based on real data, workflows, and legacy systems.
