According to China Securities Futures analyst Yang Jiaming on May 25, Middle East fuel oil exports have collapsed 68% from January to April due to ongoing geopolitical tensions affecting the Strait of Hormuz, according to Kpler data. With the strait remaining blocked, high-sulfur fuel oil is expected to maintain a significant geopolitical risk premium as supply constraints persist.
