Mizuho CEO Urges BOJ to Raise Rates by 50 Basis Points on May 27

GateNews
According to Mizuho CEO Kihara in an interview on May 27, the Bank of Japan should implement a significant interest rate hike to benefit the bond market. Kihara expects the central bank to raise rates in June or July to combat inflation, noting that a "bold" 50 basis point increase would be more favorable than smaller adjustments. He added that unless the rate hike is substantial, it is unlikely to have a major market impact.
