According to analyst KawzInvests, Moonshot AI will release its Kimi K3 open-source model on July 27, featuring approximately 2.8 trillion parameters. The model ranks among the largest open-source models, with performance trailing only Claude Fable 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol according to Moonshot's internal benchmarks.
KawzInvests noted that models of this scale require GPU clusters for inference and cannot run on standard laptops or single servers. This infrastructure demand is expected to benefit AI cloud service platforms providing model hosting and API-based inference services, where developers can access the model without managing hardware.
