Musk Predicts AI May Surpass Human Intelligence in 5 Years, Currency Importance Could Decline in 10 Years

According to BlockBeats, Elon Musk stated on July 24 during a 90-minute interview with The Economist that artificial intelligence may surpass human intelligence within 5 years. He predicted that within roughly 10 years, AI and robots could drive the global economy into a "super-abundance" era.

Musk forecasted that once AI systems and robots achieve sufficient digital intelligence and production capacity, the global economy may approach "infinite supply" status, making human labor unnecessary for survival and potentially reducing the importance of traditional currency by around 2036. He suggested governments might maintain social stability through direct cash distributions to citizens, with AI productivity gains potentially causing deflation rather than inflation.
