Netanyahu Orders Gaza Military Control Expanded to 70% From 60%

According to Financial Times, Israeli PM Netanyahu ordered on May 29 to expand military control of Gaza from 60% to 70%. The directive marks a significant departure from last year's ceasefire agreement brokered by the U.S., under which Israeli forces were expected to gradually withdraw to designated lines and progress toward talks on Hamas disarmament.

The expanded control further compresses Gaza's 2 million population into narrower areas. Gaza's health ministry reported over 900 deaths from Israeli military operations since the October ceasefire took effect.
