According to Financial Times on July 28, Nvidia secured a long-term lease agreement with Hut8 for a 1GW data center in Texas, with an initial contract value of $19.6 billion and potential reaching up to $50 billion upon renewal over 30 years. The facility will be subsequently leased to emerging cloud operator Neoclouds for AI service operations. The deal, following earlier reports of Nvidia's involvement in underwriting OpenAI's Ohio project, has reignited concerns about circular financing structures between AI chip makers and their customers.
