Oil Price Declines Create Value Opportunities in European Stocks, Says JPMorgan

According to Jin10, JPMorgan Asset Management strategist Hugh Kimber on June 17 identified attractive value opportunities in European equities following recent oil price declines. The cooling of energy prices ahead of a U.S.-Iran temporary peace agreement expected Friday has created selective investment opportunities beneath equity index surfaces, he noted. With the yield curve steepening, bank stocks "still have room to rise further," while chemical stocks appear attractive as their business is highly dependent on energy; a reversal of recent oil price shocks would benefit them. Kimber stated: "I still believe there are many opportunities to selectively position within European markets."
