According to Bitcoin.com News, Ondo Finance launched onchain tokenization of BlackRock's IVV ETF and Micron shares on July 2, marking the first such offering in the U.S. under SEC-compliant custody. Broadridge Financial Solutions will manage proxy voting for token holders through its Proxyvote.com platform, enabling shareholders to exercise voting rights directly onchain.

The structure follows the SEC's January 2026 guidance on tokenized securities, with a third-party custodian holding underlying shares while issuing tokens representing proportional ownership on Ethereum. Ondo's Global Markets platform has previously tokenized over $1 billion across 430+ stocks and ETFs internationally; these U.S. launches mark the company's first domestic entry using this custodial model.
