According to CNBC, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, and a dozen other tech executives are attending a lunch meeting at the G7 summit in Evian on Wednesday, June 17, to discuss frontier AI risks, infrastructure, and sovereignty issues. Children's online safety is also expected to be a focus of the discussions.
Anthhropic is currently negotiating with the U.S. government over export controls on its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models. The summit comes amid growing involvement of AI company executives in geopolitical negotiations. Tech companies are expected to propose a package of voluntary commitments addressing AI risks in youth safety, cybersecurity, and biological domains.
