According to Foresight News, on June 27, OpenAI released a preview of its GPT-5.6 series models. The lineup includes GPT-5.6 Sol, a flagship model achieving new state-of-the-art performance on complex tasks like Terminal-Bench 2.1, with particular strength in long-duration vulnerability research and exploitation in cybersecurity; GPT-5.6 Terra, offering performance close to GPT-5.5 with approximately 50% cost reduction; and GPT-5.6 Luna, the lowest-cost high-throughput model for frequent-use scenarios. The model names coincide with crypto token tickers, drawing responses from projects like Solana. OpenAI plans to gradually open these models to the public within weeks, though currently only limited previews are available to selected trusted partners due to U.S. government requirements.
