PTA Falls as WTI Drops Below $70 for First Time Since March; Brent Hits New Low Today

According to Jin10 Futures, PTA futures fell sharply today (June 25) as crude oil prices declined amid increased petroleum exports from the Persian Gulf. WTI crude broke below $70 for the first time since March 2, while Brent crude oil hit its lowest level since the U.S.-Iran conflict erupted on February 28. The decline in raw material costs intensified bearish sentiment in the PTA market, with downstream polyester plants operating at 12 percentage points below year-earlier levels.
