According to CCTV International, on June 5, Russian President Putin criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky's open letter released the previous day, calling it 'rude and disrespectful.' Putin stated that meeting with Zelensky currently 'makes no sense.'

Putin revealed that three weeks prior, a Russian businessman had met with Zelensky in Kyiv on May 21, conveying the Ukrainian leader's desire to hold talks. However, early on May 22, Ukrainian drones attacked a dormitory building at an academy in the Luhansk region, according to Putin's account.
