Qantas Announces World's Longest Commercial Direct Flight Route, Sydney-London Launching October 2027

According to Qantas on June 17, the airline will launch the world's longest commercial direct flight route between Sydney and London starting October 2027. Operating under its 'Project Sunrise' initiative, the service will reduce flight time to approximately 19 hours using Airbus ultra-long-range widebody aircraft. Ticket sales begin February 2027. Qantas projects the route will generate over AUD 400 million (approximately 1.9 billion yuan) in annual revenue.
