Russia Directs Fuel Stabilization Measures Amid 20–30% Demand Surge, Considers Diesel Export Ban

According to Tass, on July 2, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Novak directed relevant departments and companies to stabilize fuel supply in regions facing the most severe shortages. Novak stated that Russia holds sufficient fuel reserves to meet domestic demand, but panic buying has increased demand by 20–30 percent, causing localized fuel shortages at certain stations due to logistics adjustments at refineries. To ensure domestic supply security, Russia is considering implementing a short-term diesel export ban.
