Sam Altman Predicts OpenAI IPO Within One Year; GPT-5.6 Launch Planned for June

According to Beating, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated on Monday that the company may go public within one year, with the timeline dependent on funding needs for computing infrastructure and the pace of AI recursive self-improvement.

OpenAI is preparing to launch a new AI model codenamed GPT-5.6 this month, Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki announced in a staff memo. The new model is expected to deliver significant improvements over the current flagship model GPT-5.5.
