According to bitcoin advocate Samson Mow, Strategy should execute an over-the-counter sale of 25,000 BTC to BSTR for $1.5 billion, allowing BSTR's capital to be added to Strategy's U.S. dollar reserve. At a Bitcoin price of $60,000, the transaction would raise Strategy's reserve to $2.9 billion and increase BSTR's holdings from 30,021 BTC to 55,021 BTC.
Strategy faces renewed scrutiny over its capital structure as STRC, its variable-rate perpetual preferred stock with a $100 par value, trades near $74, representing a 26% discount to par. Annual dividend commitments have risen from $300 million at the start of 2026 to $1.2 billion, while cash reserves have declined 38% this year. Strategy holds 847,363 BTC at an average acquisition cost of approximately $75,680 per coin, currently below cost as Bitcoin recently traded toward $58,000.
