SNB to Maintain 0% Interest Rates for at Least Two Years, ING Says

According to Charlotte de Montpellier of ING, the Swiss National Bank's decision to keep interest rates unchanged demonstrates its comfortable position relative to other central banks. The analyst noted that inflation remains well within the SNB's target range, with limited risk of significant pickup in coming months. Although the SNB reiterated its willingness to intervene in foreign exchange markets to counter Swiss franc appreciation, not inflation, this signals monetary policy will remain unchanged for at least the next two years, with policy rates held at 0 percent.
