Societe Generale Raises Japan's Final Interest Rate Target to 2.5% on July 3

According to Ryutaro Kono, chief economist at Societe Generale, the bank raised its final interest rate target for Japan to 2.5% from 2.0% on July 3. The Bank of Japan's policy rate is expected to reach 1.25% by end of 2026, 2.0% by end of 2027, and 2.5% by September 2028, with rate increases occurring every four to five months.
