According to Korea Securities Depository's Savero platform, over the past 7 days ending July 2, South Korean retail investors made net purchases of $828 million in semiconductor-linked leveraged exchange-traded funds despite sharp market swings. The top three foreign equity purchases by domestic investors included three leveraged ETFs: Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3X Shares ETF ($464.74 million in net inflows), Roundhill T-Rex 2x Long DRAM Daily Target ETF ($216.27 million), and Direxion Daily MSCI South Korea Bull 3x Shares ETF ($147.07 million). Rather than reducing risk exposure amid daily index swings ranging from 5–10%, investors bet on rebounds in semiconductor stocks.
