South Korea's KOSPI Index Breaks 9,000 for First Time, Up Over 110% Year-to-Date

According to ChainCatcher, South Korea's KOSPI index broke the 9,000 mark for the first time in history on June 18, gaining over 1% intraday. The index has surged over 110% year-to-date. Among major gainers, Samsung Electronics rose 2.7%, SK Hynix climbed nearly 6%, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics jumped over 9%. On the downside, LG Energy Solution fell over 4% and Korea Semiconductor fell nearly 3%.
