South Korea's Resident Dollar Deposits Hit $113.33B in June, Up $1.08B Month-Over-Month

According to the Bank of Korea, resident foreign currency deposits reached $113.33 billion at the end of June, up $1.08 billion from May, marking the third consecutive month of growth. The increase was driven primarily by higher dollar deposits at securities companies.

Corporate dollar deposits rose $2.59 billion to $85.58 billion, while personal dollar deposits fell $350 million to $12.22 billion. The central bank attributed the overall growth to increased customer deposits at securities firms, particularly from derivatives trading margins and foreign securities investment deposits.
