Space Stocks RKLB, ASTS, SPCX Down Over 30% in July; Goldman Says Sector 5x More Volatile Than S&P 500

RKLB-11.63%
ASTS-16.91%
SPCX-3.14%
According to Goldman Sachs, Rocket Lab (RKLB), AST SpaceMobile (ASTS), and SpaceX's publicly traded vehicle (SPCX) have each declined more than 30% in July, marking a sharp reversal for the space sector's blockbuster rally. Goldman's U.S. space and satellite stocks basket is approximately five times as volatile as the S&P 500 and twice as volatile as a comparable AI basket, the investment bank said. Despite July's losses, the basket remained up 13% year-to-date through July 14, ahead of the S&P 500's 9.8% gain, after surging more than 360% over the previous two years.
