According to Spain’s Health Minister Monica García, Spain is prepared to receive a cruise ship affected by a hantavirus outbreak, with evacuation operations involving 23 countries. García made the statement at a press conference in Tenerife on May 9, alongside Interior Minister Marlaska and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, noting that Spain is coordinating with international health institutions to ensure the operation proceeds under the highest safety standards.

The cruise ship is expected to arrive at the port of Granadilla in Tenerife at 5:30 a.m. local time on May 10, with passengers beginning to disembark around 8:00 a.m., according to the ship operator’s statement.
