Tether Burns 2.5 Billion USDT on Ethereum, Largest in Recent Months

According to CryptoQuant data, Tether recently burned 2.5 billion USDT on the Ethereum network, marking the largest single-day Ethereum-based USDT burn since the 3.5 billion USDT burn on February 10. Additionally, USDT balances flowing through Binance's Tron network fell to approximately $860 million, the lowest level since December 29, 2025, and the first time the balance dropped below $1 billion. Stablecoin issuers typically conduct large-scale burns for purposes including investor repayments, treasury management, and reserve optimization.
