According to Bitcoin.com, three separate investigations between October 2024 and April 2026 each pointed to different individuals as Bitcoin's creator, yet none provided conclusive evidence. In October 2024, HBO's documentary alleged Canadian Bitcoin developer Peter Todd was Satoshi; Todd rejected the claim as absurd. In April 2026, The New York Times identified British cryptographer Adam Back through linguistic analysis of cypherpunk archives; Back denied it. Two weeks later, an independent documentary suggested Satoshi was two people: software engineer Hal Finney and privacy expert Len Sassaman, both now deceased. The three investigations contradict each other and offer no cryptographic signatures or blockchain transfers to confirm identity.
