Trump Directs Fed to Assess Granting Crypto Firms Master Account Access

According to Odaily and theBlock, Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order instructing the Federal Reserve to evaluate granting fintech and crypto companies direct access to Fed payment systems. The order directs the Fed to assess the regulatory framework for non-bank companies accessing reserve bank payment accounts and requires the central bank to clarify whether the 12 Federal Reserve Banks have independent legal authority to grant or deny such access.
