Trump Seeks to End Iran War 'Very Quickly'; Says Tehran Eager for Deal

GateNews

According to BlockBeats and WSJ reports on May 20, U.S. President Trump stated yesterday that he hopes to end the Iran conflict "very quickly." Trump said, "We will end this war very quickly. They will not have nuclear weapons. Hopefully, we can settle this in a very dignified way." Trump also claimed Iran is "desperate for a deal" and tired of the conflict.

However, according to WSJ citing regional mediators and U.S. officials familiar with negotiations, Iran's negotiating stance has not significantly changed compared to earlier unsuccessful rounds. Iran remains firm on core demands including ending hostilities, obtaining economic relief, war compensation, and oversight of the Strait of Hormuz, while significant gaps persist over U.S. demands that Tehran close or long-term suspend its nuclear program.
