According to Reuters and Abu Dhabi Media Office, on May 15, the UAE announced acceleration of the West-East pipeline project, aiming to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. The government plans to double export capacity through Fujairah port by 2027, ensuring future crude oil shipments are not disrupted by potential blockades. The pipeline is expected to become operational in 2027.
