UK Launches First Ballistic Missile Project in 50+ Years, Targets 2027 Ukraine Delivery

According to Jin10, the UK has launched ballistic missile development project "Project Nightfall" on July 16, with contracts signed with multiple defense companies targeting delivery to Ukraine by end of 2027. According to sources, technical specifications were adjusted to accelerate development: missile range reduced from 600km to 500km, warhead weight from 300kg to 200kg, and unit cost raised from 500,000 to 800,000 British pounds. Test firings are planned within the next 12 months, with successful trials required before production contracts are awarded. The UK's last major ballistic missile program dates to the 1970s.
