U.S. Retail Investors Slow Stock Purchases to $13B in Past Month, Lowest Since 2020

According to VandaTrack, U.S. retail investors' net purchases of stocks slowed to $13 billion over the past month as of July 11, marking the lowest level since 2020. Monthly net purchases have declined by $18 billion since the start of 2026, a drop of 58%. Individual stock net purchases fell 71% to $3.2 billion, the lowest since Q1 2020.
