According to BusinessWire on June 4, Visa and Brale launched a proof-of-concept stablecoin settlement system for institutional payments using SBC, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin. The collaboration centers on the Canton Network's privacy architecture, which enables participants to transact on shared infrastructure while limiting visibility of transaction information. "Stablecoin settlement has shown how blockchain infrastructure can improve the speed and efficiency of money movement," said Cuy Sheffield, head of crypto at Visa. The project tests whether privacy-enabled blockchain infrastructure can support faster and more programmable settlement while allowing institutions to protect sensitive transaction data.
