WHO Reports 866 Million People Fall Ill Annually from Unsafe Food, with Children Under 5 at 3x Higher Risk

On June 4, the World Health Organization released its 2026 estimates on foodborne illness, showing that unsafe food causes approximately 866 million people to fall ill and 1.5 million deaths globally each year.
