Zcash Foundation Releases Zebra 4.5.0 Emergency Security Update on May 30

ZEC-4.08%
According to PANews, on May 30, the Zcash Foundation released Zebra 4.5.0, an emergency node client update addressing multiple security vulnerabilities. The release includes fixes for a consensus-critical bug in P2SH script parsing that could trigger a fork with zcashd, as well as several high-severity denial-of-service (DoS) issues affecting block validation caching, transparent address balance handling, and RPC interfaces. Malicious nodes could exploit some vulnerabilities to cause node crashes, restart loops, or permanent shutdown. The foundation strongly recommends all node operators upgrade immediately.
