MotorN uses web3 technology to fight climate change

The move-to-earn protocols pay users cryptocurrencies and/or non-fungible tokens for making movements. As the name implies, the users should make prescribed movements. For example, some protocols pay users for walking or jogging.


The games use suitable technology to track these activities. For example, the players move around with smart phones with GPS modes, programmed according to certain algorithms to capture their activities. MotorN is a gaming protocol which compensates users for their daily electric vehicle (EV) rides. The range of activities is wide including driving electric vehicles or riding electric motorcycles. There is also room for competition among the gamers. In return MotorN rewards the players with game currency and NFTs.

MotorN focuses on electric vehicles as a means of promoting carbon neutral technology. Therefore, it has a genuine mission of reducing carbon emission through using green energy powered vehicles. Basically, MotorN aims to save the earth from the effects of climate change through gaming and promotion of a green transport system. Thus specifically, it is advancing the use of electric vehicles. In addition, it aims to become a leading innovator in the transport and travel sector. The team believes that it can achieve its green goals through using web3 technology. In this, it combines the web3 economy with the real world to create an eco-gaming system that promotes sustainability.

Through using the Game-Fi model, MotorN aims to convince millions, if not billions of web3 users, to adopt healthier and more ecologically- friendly lifestyles. The reason is that only through mobilizing the greater part of the global population can we reduce the global emission of greenhouse gases and save our earth.

According to its blog, MotorN, "aims to encourage people to get close to nature, protect air quality and nature, and reduce pollution through games, socializing and promoting a healthy lifestyle of green travel."

Background to MotorN

An elite team of professors from the National University of Singapore are behind the formation of MotorN. This team, specialists in carbon emission reduction solutions, witnessed a certain event which inspired them to create MotorN, a web3 protocol with Game-Fi and Social-Fi features.

It was during April to July 2021, when these specialists were researching on the solutions to the problem of high carbon emission when thousands of motorbike commuters passed by. In the process, there was high emission of exhaust smoke which prompted them to find ways of dealing with that problem. It was at that time that they proposed the "Move-to-earn incentive mechanism + electric vehicle + carbon economy."

This model requires people to use electric vehicles to travel from one place to another. This would reduce carbon emission significantly, thereby lowering the level of pollution and improving the quality of air. In return, the users who actively use electric vehicles would get rewards for that including carbon credits.

MotorN move-to-earn Model

There are three phases at MotorN which a user should pass through. The first step is to acquire an E-Motor NFT at the platform. In fact, there are two types of NFTs, the Genesis NFT which exist on the ethereum blockchain and the utility NFT based on Binance Smart Chain.

After acquiring the NFTs, the users should configure the utility NFT series which include ‘E-Motor, E-Bike, EV, E-Scooter license plates.’ Having done that, MotorN provides the users with other required equipment and products which ensure that their movements are captured and incentivized. Some of the products they get are physical trams and other co-branded products.

The App bluetooth and built-in on-board chip device are the ones that capture all the green travel movements which the users make. As such, the equipment records the mileage each player covers as well as the speed he/she is travelling at. Thus each gamer gets rewards which are commensurate with his/her mileage and speed. Speed helps to determine the winners when there are competitions.


Social-Fi enhances cooperation among parties as they hold competitions and related activities, created to influence as many people as possible to participate in community activities and embrace the concept of green travel and carbon neutral ecology.

MotorN focuses on encouraging users to use two wheeled electric motorcycles as they do not produce greenhouse gases. Through the move-to-earn model, MotorN is complementing the efforts of several governments around the world that are giving incentives to their citizens to use electric vehicles. In many countries there are subsidies for the production and use of two wheeled electric motorcycles. For example India and Southeast Asian countries already have a culture of using motorcycles. Therefore, MotorN hopes to have the greatest impact in such markets.

The MotorN token economy

The MotorN economy will have two digital assets, the game token and the governance one. Basically, every user should purchase and hold the MotorN NFT in order to participate in the ecosystem. To get the rewards, the user should ride or drive a real electric vehicle such as a motorcycle.

The economy has a total of 10 000 Genesis MotorN NFTs, deployed on the ethereum chain. However, the users will earn the game cryptocurrency called Wild Coin or the governance currency- Free Coin. They can use these tokens in-game or cash them out. The economy also includes a marketplace where users can buy, sell or lease the tokens.
