40 Supertankers Holding 80 Million Barrels of Oil Anchored in Persian Gulf, Ready to Transit Strait of Hormuz

According to Bloomberg, 40 very large crude carriers (VLCCs) carrying approximately 80 million barrels of non-sanctioned crude oil from Persian Gulf producers (excluding Iran) are currently anchored in the Persian Gulf, awaiting instructions from traders and vessel operators to transit the Strait of Hormuz. The region shipped approximately 15 million barrels daily to Asian markets last year.
