On June 15, SpaceX engineer Christina Li, known as Tina, issued a statement addressing widespread false information spread across social media platforms. Self-media outlets had fabricated details about her, including a fake Chinese name, false educational credentials, and an inflated role at SpaceX.
According to her clarification, Tina holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Stanford University, graduated in 2020, and has no master's or doctoral degree. She has been one of multiple Raptor engine flight control operators on the Starship launch control console since the vehicle's second test flight, and previously worked on booster control software. She has been stationed at the SpaceX Starbase in Texas since 2020 and is currently an engineer in the Raptor Flight Operations division.
