AI Buildout Weighs on Bitcoin Demand but Capital Expected to Rotate to BTC Later, Relai CEO Says

According to Julian Liniger, co-founder and CEO of Swiss bitcoin brokerage Relai, speaking at BTC Prague on Thursday, global liquidity is currently being absorbed by AI investments, reducing capital available for bitcoin. Liniger said investors are pouring money into companies such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX, leaving less room for other assets. However, he expects the current AI buildout cycle to continue through 2026 and 2027 before slowing, at which point investors will likely redirect capital into bitcoin. "The money will be used to pay to build out the whole AI industry this year and next year, and then there will be a lot of productivity gains," Liniger said. "After that, this money will flow naturally into bitcoin."
