Alipay's AI Overhaul 'Baoji Plan' Launches Soon With Dual-Interface and Dual-Access Strategy

According to LatePost, Alipay's internal AI overhaul project, codenamed "Baoji Plan," is set to launch soon and will iterate twice monthly. Led by Alipay Group President Li Jun, the project will serve Alipay's 1 billion user base with zero migration costs through a one-click toggle between the legacy interface and a new conversational AI-driven interface as default.

The technical implementation uses a dual-track approach: merchants can refactor services into MCP (Model Context Protocol) interfaces for direct AI invocation, while Alipay simultaneously enables screen-reading compatibility for unconverted mini-apps under user authorization. The company plans to launch an AI open platform post-launch and expand across terminals including phones, in-vehicle systems, and smart glasses.
