According to China Daily, MACAU Pass, a Macao-based fintech platform, is expanding AI-powered digital payment services with backing from Ant Bank (Macao) and Alibaba ecosystem partners, showcasing the initiative at the BEYOND International Technology Innovation Expo 2026. The company's MPay e-wallet serves nearly 90% of Macao residents and covers approximately 90% of local merchants, supporting over 100 use cases including dining, retail, and cross-border payments. Through Alipay+, MPay is accessible across 62 countries and regions. MACAU Pass launched an AI payment assistant in April, while Ant Bank (Macao) opened its first 24-hour unmanned self-service branch in October 2025.
