According to BlockBeats, Apple was sued on July 28 by three users who lost over $1.8 million after downloading a fraudulent Bitcoin wallet app on the App Store. The counterfeit app impersonated Sparrow Wallet, though the official Sparrow Bitcoin wallet has never been available on iOS. Individual losses totaled $875,000, $840,000, and $120,000 respectively. Plaintiffs claim Apple's strict review claims contradict its failure to prevent such fraud, and seek damages plus enhanced security disclosures.
