According to Bitcoin.com News, on June 30, John Doe 33, identifying himself as the holder of a wallet named in the $293 billion Noah Doe bitcoin lawsuit, filed a motion to dismiss the case in New York Supreme Court. His appearance marks the first time an actual wallet owner has directly contested the litigation, which claims ownership of approximately 3.8 million BTC across 39,069 dormant addresses.
On July 2, 500 BTC moved from wallet No. 881 named in the complaint, the latest in a series of transactions that undermine the plaintiffs' core argument that the addresses were abandoned. A critical hearing is scheduled for July 14 at 10:30 a.m. before Justice Kathy J. King, where the court will address the motion to dismiss, an amicus brief challenging the abandonment theory, and requests to modify an earlier stay on the proceedings.
