According to Xinhua News Agency, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed an executive order on May 12 to eliminate federal taxes on imported goods priced at $50 or below. The government stated the measure aims to reduce cross-border e-commerce product prices and benefit Brazil’s low-income consumers.
