ByteDance's Doubao Loses 6.1M Users in May After Pricing Preview, Down 1.81%

According to Aicpb.com, ByteDance's Doubao lost 6.1 million monthly active users in May, declining 1.81% from April after the company previewed paid subscription tiers on its iOS app listing. The standard plan was listed at 68 yuan (approximately US$10) per month or 688 yuan annually, while the professional plan was priced at 500 yuan (approximately US$74) per month or 5,088 yuan annually. ByteDance described the move as a test of value-added services, though the paid features were not rolled out in the app. Despite the decline, Doubao remained China's largest AI mobile app by Aicpb's rankings.
