Chainalysis Proposes Blockchain Analysis Framework to Standardize Wallet Cluster Identification

According to Chainalysis, on June 29, the company introduced a proposed ontology for blockchain analysis designed to establish standardized practices for investigators and prosecutors in legal proceedings. The framework introduces a two-layer analytical model that first maps structural relationships among blockchain addresses and then evaluates the confidence level associated with those relationships, aiming to ensure evidence produced by blockchain analysis tools is consistent, transparent, and scientifically reliable. Chief Scientist Jacob Illum emphasized that the initiative addresses a practical need: determining what conclusions are genuinely supported by blockchain data without exceeding what the evidence justifies.
